    A check for the “Requires at least” tag in the plugin readme would be useful. For example, identifying all WordPress core functions that are being used in the plugin, and if any core function is used that was introduced in a more recent wp-core version than the version specified in the “Requires at least” tag, the check should fail.

    Hello!

    That’s a good idea for best practices in developing. We’re focusing on Plugin Repo checks that there is still a lot of work to do.
    I’ll note it for the future!
