Chat not launching after clicking start chat button

    We can’t get the chat widget to launch.

    The button is working fine to open the widget on the bottom right, we can enter the data to start the chat but when we click the button to start chat nothing happens. Even when I click enter on the keyboard it will not trigger the chat widget.

    I’ve tried a number of settings and also disabled any caching plugins and this is still an issue.

    HI @shanejones ,

    There seems to be a conflict either with a plugin or the theme. Would it be possible to temporarily disable all other plugins (not just caching ones) to see if the problem persists?

    I know this can be difficult in a live environment but unfortunately it is one of the most important steps towards tracing what’s wrong.

    Hi I also have a weird scenario. You can send a message once only. When you click on the chat icon a second time it does not open. If you do a full F5 browser reset then you can do another message, but of course one would hardly expect for the user to have to do that. I have also deactivated every plug-in except the chat one and it made absolutely no difference. This problem appears across all browsers and all windows and iPad iOS platforms. I do believe that this is the latest plug in iteration as well. Thanks Pete

    Hi @pdpmail ,

    Are you referring to Offline Messages or the Live Chat messages?

    If it’s offline messages then this is by design. It’s like a contact form. You rarely need to fill it twice in a go.

    I see what you are, saying. Thanks. Also though to respond to chats, end calls etc do I have to login to my own website and do it “internally” as if were, (which is currently how I do it) or can I browse to a URL outside of my own website in order to manage and interact with external “callers”?
