• So there i am talking to a visitor, i paste a link, they follow it, it opens a NEW window with the chat pinned to the right. Problem is, i continue talking to them but the chat is appearing in the original window which they cannot see. They hear it ping but cannot see my messages. And the messages they are sending me, I can’t see either. This plugin needs to be able to display the chat window in multiple browser instances simultaneously. I was using the free version, dont know if the PRO includes this “feature”. But it makes the free useless. User navigates and you lose chat.

Also, when teh chat window was open, it had the permanent input focus. I was trying to get somebody to enter details into a form on my iste while talking to them, they couldn’t type in the form. Click into the field, type, focus jumps back to chat pane.

Plugin is almost good. Needs polish, 2 bugs spotted in minutes that makes the free version unusable. Is it same in pro version? I wouldn’t want to pay and find it still is.

  • Hi @crmuk

The plugin by default supports this functionality and will follow you as you change through pages.

There might just be an error on the page that is affecting the chat’s functionality from re-opening once it’s moved to the new page though. Would it be possible for you to send me a link to your site so that I can look into this for you?

    hi crmuk (@crmuk)

This issue was present on your own support site when talking to one of your own support representatives. I asked if it was possible to have your chat window open up only on a wordpress site where there was no user logged in. I want to use it for sales to convert vistors, i dont want my members then using it to chat to us as we have a different funnel for them once they are logged in.

She said she’d spoke to a dev who said he could do it and would need access to my site to make some changes. OK, cool. So then I was asked to click a link to raise a ticket. I did this and it opened a new browser window, with the chat still docked to the right hand side. She continued chatting to me but nothing came up on the screen, i could hear it making the alert when a message was receieved but not getting her messages. I was typing to her and had no idea if she was getting my messages or not. Also, i couldnt fill in the support form in the main page because the chat window permanently had input focus. I just gave up and closed the window, then I could see on the window underneath that her messages were present in the original chat screen and my messages hand’t gone through to her at all, she was like “hello, are you still there?”. I just abandoned it at that point , I cant be having conversations with my visitors, sending them a link and then finding them clicking on it breaks the chat.

So to test it out, use the live chat help on your own website and get the support rep to send a link to the page where you create a support ticket.

    Hope this helps you

    Hi @crmuk

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will have this fixed by tomorrow at the latest.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

@marquisperrygmailcom The plugin supports this, however there seems to be a bug preventing this from happening. We’re going to have this fixed ASAP. I sincerely apologize for this.

I looked through the changelog, but couldn’t figure out if this was one of the fixes. Is it sorted now? Cheers.
