Chat Bubble Not Appearing Anymore

    Hello,

    This plugin was installed a few months ago and was working fine. Team members have suddenly received emails (October) stating that the plugin is out-of-date, but this plugin was updated to the v1.8 in August, which is the version it recommends to update to in the emails. Now when viewing the website, the chat bubble is no longer appearing and it is unknown how long it has been missing.

    I’ve attempted checking this on multiple computers, incognito, VPNs, and having people in a different state open this website to see if it pops up. I have reinstalled the plugin completely, and it is still not appearing.

    Is there a solution for this, or a guide available I can follow to ensure I’m reinstalling this correctly?

  • Just tried your site and the plugin is working on desktop. Are you still seeing the issue?

    Same issue. Received e-mail about the updates, updated the plugin, then i realized it is not working anymore. Reinstalled the plugin but i cant see whats wrong.

    I continued to find online forums and guides to try and figure this out. I manage 2 websites and the first one only required a fresh install and reactivating it again. For the second one, I went through the Facebook Business side of the app and there is an option to install the Chat through that. I did that, it provided some Javascript SDK to put after the beginning <body> which I included into the theme, and it started working after that.

    For others, I would recommend checking Facebook Business and going under the “Messenger” section till you find the install through that, and make sure you put in the code it provides.

    @leonardofuchs I’ve had a look at your site, and I can’t see the plugin code on there. Could you try going through the setup process one more time?

    I made it again deinstalling the plugin and reinstalling it. Put the code wich facebook business gave to me on the <body> </body> part and saw there’s no code on the page as well.

    I did what cynthiapb told to do with no success.

    What could be the cause for this? any other place to put the code?

    I added the FB Javascript SDK in the footer area of my theme. Saw it being added but it still does not show the FB chat.

    I went to the plugin setup to re-set it up but still no joy.

    I hope Facebook fixes this. Or as a work-around if someone could post a detailed step by step instructions. Thanks.

    I am on the same step as Xrealty. Tried many workarounds, but it gave nothing. Facebook changed something on their side and now the plugin is broken. Can’t tell why.

    Could you guys post some help on this? losing contacts because of this.

    @leonardofuchs You don’t need to put code anywhere. You should only need to install the WordPress plugin, and run the setup process. If you’re manually inserting code, this is what may be causing the issue.

    Can you remove any code you’ve added and try running the plugin setup again?

    Great, i’ll remove the code, remove the plugin, install it again and go through the setup process …again.

    One more time and i’ll tell you the results.

    Same issue here – updated to 1.8 and FB Chat disappears. I also tried removing the plugin, reinstalling and doing the setup again to no avail.

    Looks like the issue is when you use Edge or IE.

    Mine is now working. Using Chrome do the following:
    1. Deactivate the plugin
    2. Remove the plugin
    3. Re-install the plugin
    4. Go through the plugin settings/setup

    I used the steps above using Chrome. They now work.

    Well. Remove the facebook code from the <body> part… then removed the plugin completely. Then Installed it again and….still nothing.

    What else can i do?

    Any response about this issue?

    Hi @leonardofuchs,

    I’m still not seeing the code in the source for your site. Can I ask you to check the following:

    * Are you running the latest version of the plugin, and is the plugin “Activated“? You can view the status in the Plugin tab.

    * Do you have other WordPress plugins active in your installation? If so, please try deactivating them all temporarily, and checking if that resolves the issue. It is possible that other plugins may introduce conflicts with the Facebook Chat Plugin. By reactivating the plugins one-by-one, the offending plugin can be identified through trial and error.
