Hi there!

I’ve a customer who place an order through a debit card. He states he was charged, but the order still failed. I’ve got no option to refund, so I think the charged funds will be automatically refunded by Stripe. Is this correct? See system report underneath.

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that a customer who placed an order on your site got charged on their card, however, the order status is Failed under WooCommerce > Orders, correct?

As a first step, can you please share with us a screenshot of the Order Notes for us to check this further?

Meanwhile, checking the System Status Report, these are what I found:

Please update WooCommerce and WooCommerce Payments to the latest version by going to Plugins > Installed Plugins. This is to ensure optimal performance, security, and compatibility with the latest WordPress version

After all of these were updated, please try to create a test order using WooCommerce Payments Test Mode and see if the order is successful?

Otherwise, for us to investigate this further, please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and WooCommerce Payments plugins are enabled, create a test order using Test Mode again and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
