I’ve upgraded to plugin version 1.1.0

When entering a review online, after completing all fields, the “Submit Review” button is still disabled. I have a red error code under the “review” text field stating “Characters remaining: NaN”.

My entered review text is relatively short (22 chars) so I added many extra characters, but the error message does not go away and, because of this, I’m no longer able to add reviews through my online page.

    Hi Elliot,

Thanks for letting us know, this should be corrected in V1.1.1. There was a problem with a last minute styling change we made to that “Characters remaining” line, which caused it to be triggered even if the “Characters Allowed” field was left blank on the “Options” tab.

I’ve updated to 1.1.1 and although I no longer see the described error, the “Submit Review” button remains disabled although all the fields are populated.

Also, I added a review through WordPress (not through above link) but, although product was specified as “Oticon Alta2”, it doesn’t show up with [ultimate-reviews product_name=’Oticon Alta2′] shortcode.

    Hi Elliot,

Didn’t have any issues submitting a review through the link you provided, did you refresh the page after updating?

I just successfully updated a review through the website and it showed up properly. We’re almost there. However, there are numbers from 10 to 1 descending showing up on the review page. See here…

Also, please click on the one review and look at the details. There’s additional text inserted between the review “header” and the corresponding scores.

    Version 1.1.2

I added a few reviews directly through WordPress (not through website link) but, although product names were properly specified, they doesn’t show up with [ultimate-reviews product_name='<product name>’] shortcode as they did before. When adding the same information through the website, it works fine.

I’m not really sure what to enter in “Review Weight” field. Could that be the cause?

    Hi Elliot,

The bars are just the “Full” display for “Summary Statistics”; if you switch that to “Limited” or “No”, then it should disappear.

If you switch “Review Weights” off, do products save correctly? When they’re not displaying when being created on the back-end, are the product names saved correctly if you click on a review after hitting “Publish”?

    Thread Starter elliotjo99

Ok. I have two reviews for the same product, Oticon Alta2. One review was entered online and the other was not. Only the online review shows up. I turned “Review Weights” off to eliminate the possibility of it having an effect.

I edited both reviews through WordPress interface but did not change anything, then clicked save for each review. Now, neither shows.

Perhaps some data element that was allowing the review to be displayed must have been overwritten during the WP save?

That sounds like what the problem could be. Is the name field still showing up correctly after saving in the back-end?

    Thread Starter elliotjo99

    (@elliotjo99)

Yes the name field has not been changed.

My “require email validation” is set to “on”. I’ll try changing that (and a few other) settings to see if that makes the reviews visible.

    Thread Starter elliotjo99

    (@elliotjo99)

Yes. That’s it! The “require email validation” when set to “yes” does not show anything entered in wordpress.

…when I change it to “no”, everything shows up fine. I want to keep it set to “y” but want to be also free to enter directly through WP without the need for email authorization.

Weird, sorry about that. Not sure how the “Email Confirmed” option got hidden, but it should be back in V1.1.3.
