    Hi guys,

thanks a lot for the plugin and the opportunity to change the style using bcttstyle.css file. I’m setting up a brand new website and I will cite you in my credits page.

My questions is: Is there any way to expand the 117 characters limit considering that tweet is going toward 280 chars?
    Thanks
    Gabi

    Hi Gabi,

    Thanks for this request.

I am going to look into how I can increase the character limit in the plugin, now that 280 is the default.

I hope to incorporate that change very soon.

    Hi Gabi,

Bad news: I just hopped in and tried to make that change, but it is not possible yet because Twitter has not yet changed their Web Intents interface, which is what is used to create the tweet by my plugin.

Until they update their side so that web intents work with 280 characters, my hands are tied.

Also, in my experience they are slow to turn around on issues like this. I’ve responded to a support thread on their developer site where another developer was looking for this functionality, and will let you know if I hear anything.

    Hi Ben,

as usual Twitter marketing Dep works faster than the technical one. ??

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hi Ben!
Is there any way to help you put some pressure on Twitter? Would like to avoid the double work of having to “invent” different tweets for the posts and directly for Twitter. Thanks

Great news everyone! Twitter now supports 280 in the Web intents API, and I’ve updated the plugin to support it as well.

Let me know if you see anything wonky.

    Thanks!
