Character Limit in Form Fields?

Using the free version of the plug in.
Managing the website in Chrome (Version 43.0.2357.124).
Mac (OS X 10.10.3 – Yosemite).When I enter a long list of comma-separated options for dropdown menus in the Form Fields editor, the text only saves up to a point, and no additional text will save after that. Is there a character limit on form fields? And if so, why? Can it be overcome?
If this problem didn’t exist, I’d purchase the Gold version.
