    Hi,

I have done the following with some issues at the end:

    • I have backed up a live website and restored it locally.
      Everything was fine so far.
    • I then made this locally changed website database live again, i.e. performed a restore.
    • Afterwards there were two major problems:
1.) Some page names were completely removed and instead only “No title” was displayed, I don’t know what could be the reason here.
2.) All “special characters”, in my case German “Umlauts”, where exchanged with a question mark symbol:

This is probably due to the fact that the target database has a slightly different character set, which I found out from a competitor product that does not have such problems (because it is probably converted automatically?)
    Here is a screenshot:

    Thanks for your effort!
    Jürgen

    Hello,

Kindly update to the latest version 0.9.98 and proceed with the backup restoration process once more.

Afterwards, please notify us if the issue has been resolved.

    Kind regards.

Hi, I have now done the following steps:

    • Updating WPvivid local and remote
    • Making backup from my live server
    • Restore backup local -> all works fine
    • Making a backup local
    • Restore the backup on my live site
-> All characters are now correct
-> All pages have their correct titles
-> but my Bricks Builder content is all deleted!
The content of Gutenberg is already there.
As I can see in the database, Bricks Builder doesn’t use it’s own tables so I wonder why this could be happened.

What also happens after each start of the two restores:
WPvivid says the file is corrupted, so I tried it again, then it works.
Wonder why this happened, because the download of the file (only db) was small and quickly finished.

EDIT: Found out, that not all Bricks pages are deleted, but two or three.

When I restore, I can see the log being written. When the restore is finished and I click on the “Log” link, it says that the log was not found.

However, I can view the log for a backup (on the live site).

PS: I tried again while writing this and did a quick “select all” and copied it before closing the log tab so I can send you what I caught right away.

After trying a restore today, I realised that the problems are still there, even 2 months after I had already sent you the credentials to my site, the log data and the backup file.
Parts of the website are still being deleted and umlauts are still being displayed incorrectly. This problem does not exist with Duplicator. I will switch back to it.

    Hello,

We responded to you two months ago, but we did not receive a reply from you during that time. Consequently, we assumed your issue had been resolved. Are you still experiencing the issue?

    Hi,

I have email replied three times with all the data that I had. I assumed that you had tested my configuration internally, as this is standard practice when you make changes to the code. That’s why I didn’t deliberately try a restore on my live site again.

Now where I had to restore my site, the same errors occur as already described here. I can’t provide any more data than back then. You can see the character set of the database in a post above. I don’t mean you any harm and my amended bad review is certainly based on the fact that I was annoyed that the restore didn’t work. I’m sorry, but I’ve lost trust for the time being.
