• What kind of character conversion does WP do between pulling a post from MySQL and displaying it?

I’m curious because I’m trying to use wp2drupal to (obviously) import WP entries into Drupal and when I do this, I get strange symbols (e.g.: a€? instead of ’) after importing. At first I thought this was the fault of Drupal or wp2drupal, but then I realized a€? is what’s in the database (as shown by phpMyAdmin), so it would appear WP has no problem displaying what Drupal can’t.

    Thanks

  • Unless you changed it WP’s default encoding is utf-8. Is it the same in your drupal? If not, all the special characters will look like that…
