    Hi gormley,
you can get the best from FB buttons following the Open Graph directives issued by the Facebook team. Basically you can force in each page the right image to share, using the Open Graph Tag “og:image”. Several plugins, e.g. “WordPress SEO by Yoast”, provide this functionality.

Different approaches are difficult to work with, because FB internal procedures are not known.

so you cannot override the css built into the plugin? it is a simple background placement. there is nothing within the inner workings of the php code for the plugin that will allow this alteration?

    Hi gormley,
I think I misunderstood your request earlier. Anyway applying css to an external iFrame (the Facebook Button is implemented this way) is generally denied for cross-frame security reasons.

For more info see here and on the web.
