    Hi,

    We recently performed a search of our data base tables for instances of HTTP while converting the site from HTTP to HTTPS using the plugin Better Search Replace.

    In the results of the dry run, the following tables had instances of HTTP:

    wp_wfconfig, wp_wffilemods, wp_wfhits, wp_wfknownfilelist, wp_wfnotifications

    If we convert the instances of HTTP in the aforementioned tables to HTTPS, will there be any issues with how WordFence functions or any other aspect of the application?

    Thank you and have a good day!

  • Hi @nevrsmer,

    I wouldn’t recommend replacing strings within the database. Here’s what I would do:

    1. Go to Wordfence -> Tools -> Import/Export
    2. Export your options to a special key
    3. Go to Wordfence -> All Options -> Tick off Delete all Tables/Data upon deactivation
    4. Reinstall Wordfence
    5. Go back to Import/Export and import your options

    The tables that have http may have references to different sites, so they shouldn’t be changed to https.

    Hello Dave,

    Thank you very much for the information.

    By saving the setting by exporting them to a key, will that allow me to reinstall WordFence and not have to complete any verifications and configure settings? Sorry, I’ve never done this, so I just want to make sure before I proceed with your instructions.

    Again, many thanks!
