I really like this plugin and would like to use it for reserving tables at a flea market. Unfortunately, the labels for various items do not suit the event and I was hoping that there was an easy way to define my own labels, either globally for the whole plugin, or individually for each event. I am even willing to alter the PHP if that is required.

Here are some examples of what I would change if I could:

    • open seats/places in the room –> available tables
    • X seats/place selected, Open –> X tables selected, Reserve (or Finalize or Place Order or Finished Selecting or Complete Booking)
    • Add place 58 from room Erskine Arena to booking? –> Add table 58 to booking
    • NR –> No. or Num. or Position or Table (nr is not used as an abbreviation for number in English)
    • Room –> Floor or Area or Building

… and so on. I would be quite happy to help with creating an alternative set of terms if you want to make this part of the standard plug-in.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hey. I see two options to solves your problem.

    Option A.
As the desired changes are only related to text then its quite simple to just change them. You need to located where the text is in the code and modify it. The downside to this is that when the plugin gets updated you will loose you changes. You can of course turn off automatic updates and never update the plugin but I would not advice it (improvements, new features, bug fixes etc).

    Option B.
The best solution to the problem is to develop a feature that lets you also choose table option (currently only seat and generic place are offered). I think its actually a good idea and I will add it to the to-do list.

Thanks for the very speedy reply! I look forward to “Option B” but I will implement “Option A” for now.

You may want to think of a more general way to specify the labels. For example, at a trade show the floor space reservations are usually called “booths”, so being able to choose table/seat/place/booth/car/xxxx would be great. And since it is likely that someone will have their own terminology for their event, being able to define the labels (as an event organizer) would be fantastic.

I am not a WP developer, so I am not sure what would be the best way to implement this, but on some platforms there is a set of language files that are normally used to display translations or text in different languages. I could define my own “language” that was specific to the event.

Thanks again for a great plugin.
