Changing URLs (i.e. eg format other than ?page_id=63)

  • Just looking for some help with this.

    I’ve been for how to do it, and reading the stuff about Permalinks.

    So I’ve gone into settings and changed it from default to Post Name.

    It works for one page, changing the end of the URL to index.php/categories/

    Because I did have a previous Events page, I figured out that was preventing me from changing the permalink from events-2 to just events.

    But I have now permanently deleted all other pages / posts that may have been causing a conflict.

    So I have a page here:

    https://www.libertynewbury.co.uk/?page_id=63

    That I just want to change to:

    https://www.libertynewbury.co.uk/index.php/events/

    I don’t get how, even when logged in to WP, clicking on ‘View Page’ draws a blank?

    Any idea what else I need to do?
