changing URL

I currently have a website on GoDaddy and have created a website with wordpress on Host gator. I would like to cancel my subscription with GoDaddy, thereby un-registering my domain name, and change my current wordpress site’s domain on host gator to a new one. The wordpress domain example is https://www.exampledev.com. I want to change it to https://www.example.com, which is currently registered to GoDaddy. Not knowing much HTML, would it just be easier to rebuild my wordpress site from scratch after un-registering the old domain?
