Changing Uploads Directory

I tried to change the uploads directory and encountered a problem.

I set the following:

Store uploads in this folder: media
Full URL path to files (optional): https://www.lukejanicke.com/media
Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders: checked

However, now the images will not show. Also, when I enter the FULL image URL in the address bar, instead of showing the image, it shows the WordPress Error 404 page.

The files are uploading to the server properly, and WordPress is creating the correct thumbnail and medium size versions. However, I can’t add them into my posts or view them directly via the full URL.

Is there a setting/step I am missing?
