Changing Title of WordPress homepage

I’m in the process of moving a Joomla site to WordPress. I’m using Gambit theme and have created a homepage using their Magazine template but the description is saying Magazine Homepage when I would like it to replace with description of the site. Is there a way to change that without changing the URL of the page as the site has been online a while and a lot of posts and pages are directing to it.
