Changing themes step by step

  • I have my new theme downloaded on my computer. Can someone give me a step by step on how to get the theme onto my site. I am a novice at this and can not find anything that gives me details on how to do this. Thanks.

    That was very helpful. However, my FileZilla does not connect to my website. I took the original IP from my host along with my password and username (which was all in the orignal email I received from the host company when I first signed up) and it does not connect. Any suggestions?

    Make sure the Port is set to the one supplied by your host.

    Ditto what joebrooksie mentioned. Generally port 21 is used. It may be that port 21 is being blocked by your ISP or is turned off on your router. Double check your username, password, and IP address with your host, too.

    Once you connect you need to upload your theme into the wp-content/themes folder.
