Can someone please help, I have just downloaded and installed wordpress ver 2.0.5, it is installed and I have the basic layout and it all works. I’m now trying to change the theme but every help topic I read doesn’t answer my problem. No doubt someone will tell me to look at the codex help topics, again this is not helping it refers to the Presentation label which does not exist on the “Dashboard”. I have created a themes folder in my wp-content folder as there wasn’t one there to start with and upload the theme I want to apply but I can’t apply it because the Presentation button etc is missing.

Can some please help or point me in the right direction..??
or if you can explain it in simple terms then I would really appreciate it

  • Actually, you have version 1.2.1 (!) – where did you get it?
Themes were introduced only since version 1.5, so it is normal you don’t have it.

    moshu,

Many thanks, I installed it from my hosting server so there version must be so far out of date. I have installed it manually and it seems to be working now. I will contact my ISP and get them to update there version of WordPress. You have saved me tearing my hair out for another day. Cheers

Hi I am new to wordpress. recently intalled wordpress 1.0. don’t laugh.
Can we directly upgrade from version 1.0 to version 2.0. Also can we apply new themes to older version of Wrodpress? Thanks for your help.
