• I am using Holmiumous Theme by Padd Solutions (left a note for them too). I want to change the background image but I don’t see it in the style sheet (or a place for it). I can’t find an image in the image folder for the theme that matches the background as it is now (I thought I’d just replace that image if I could have found it).

It also has a slider that uses a really bright orange. I want to change that orange color to something else (would also like to change the font colors too as some of them present in that same bright orange).

Can someone advise on how to make these changes?

Thanks for any help, it’s appreciated.
    Lisa

Boy is this bit of news about the malicious code disturbing…I’ll review the links when I can get a chance. Marv, does the fix I applied earlier take care of vulnerability like this or is there something else I should do? I don’t have the in-depth knowledge to deal with something like this. I haven’t noticed any problems with it.

Aspen, please come back and share anything you discover that’s useful with these themes.

    Thanks!

Marventus, thanks for your quick reply. In the case of this particular theme (Thuliumy Theme) it appears that they included some code necessary for the slider to work in the prelude.php file. If I delete the contents of prelude.php (while keeping the file itself as empty) the slider stops working. I am still experimenting with this and not 100% sure if I am right about this – but will keep you guys posted as I need to fix this asap. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
    Thanks!

@ Lisa: I don’t remember seeing any harmful code anywhere on Holmiumous. The prelude.php file was simply calling sponsored ads through an iframe which, AFAIK, should not cause any threats to the site. However, if there had been harmful code contained in prelude.php, the fix I suggested should have removed it.
@ Aspen: you are welcome. As for the code, if you follow the instructions on the second link you shared, you’ll be able to get rid of it. The steps are:
    1. Delete all contents inside the file prelude.php, and
    2. Delete the following line of code from footer.php:

    <?php padd_theme_credits(); ?>

    That should do it.

Thanks for your help. I followed your instructions and all seems well now. I have “Little Snitch” installed and could see that the theme (in its original state with prelude.php in place) was repeatedly trying to call out to a number of website. Now (after your fix) that no longer seems to be an issue – so thanks!

One more question in case any of you know the answer: I am hosting this wordpress install on with 1and1. For some reason the logo images won’t display on the 1&1 install – but shows fine in my MAMP development install. Any ideas? The site is here: https://www.stellardaytrips.com

I also still need to fix the footer to keep it at bottom of screen – right now that “rides up” when not enough content in body.

    Thanks!

I tried to access your site through the link you posted but I get a “Server not found” error. I’ve been experiencing problems with my internet connection all day so it could be an issue on my end, but, on the other hand, I can access other websites just fine.
