Why do you want to change it? it is referenced everywhere in files and the database so it will break if you change it.

Not particularly any safer than leaving it be. The file path will still be visible in your source code. Also bad plugins forget people do this and may break, so be prepared for agony there.

You can do it via a define() in your wp-config.php file.

Not all plugins and themes are well written and as cjc1867 pointed out that may break things.

Also? Security is in the code and not the path to the code. That doesn’t make anything more secure.

You can find out where you put by viewing the page source anyway so you are not achieving anything by doing it.

Hiding it would be making it so no one can find it. This is like … moving your front door to the side of your house.
