Hi, I have a custom header image which has the name of my company so I haven’t added a site title as it’s repetitive. This might be hard to do but I want my site title to show up on the browser tab but not above my header image.

And to make it even more complicated I want my Home page browser tab to show my full site/company name but all other page tabs to show the name abbreviated.
Home page Tab: “Renewable Energy Associates”
    Other Pages: “Services|REA”, “Projects|REA”, “Contact US|REA”, ect.
My Site: I’m using the Weaver 2010 twenty ten theme

I think it helps to have a site title as it’s something search engines look for?

Thanks for any help. It’s greatly appreciated

Correct! So ensure that your site has both a site title and a site description, then hide them from graphical browsers using CSS as appropriate. But don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme! Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

Do I need to copy over only my style.css file into my child theme or do I need to copy over every file that I have made changes to? header.php, footer.php, template files, ect?

Can anybody provide some links or clues to hiding my site title and site description from graphical browsers?

    Thanks

Please see the link I gave above. Once you child theme is up & running, post a link to your site and we’ll try to help with the CSS changes.

Im using the Weaver twenty ten theme and Weaver provides a place in the appearance settings to make all your changes there. I have reloaded the original style.css over the one that I made changes to and got it back to where I had it before. Thanks though. It’s only the style.css file that I shouldn’t edit correct?

    My Site: REA

I want my Home page browser tab to show my full site/company name but all other page tabs to show the name abbreviated.

That’s what your site currently does.

Yeah. I got it to work thanks.

    How did you do it?

    My site is rebeccaswellnessoworkshop.com

I was able to remove “Just Another WordPress Site” from the browser tab, but now it only shows the actual URL. I would like it to read “Rebecca’s Wellness Workshop,” which is the site title. I Rebecca’s Wellness Workshop in the Settings>General>Site Title field, but it doesn’t show as my site name on the browser tab. I might have ruined those capabilities when I took out the code that showed the title at the top of my website. But I don’t want that either. Does this make sense?

    Thanks!
