    Hi all,

I’ve tried to change the theme options – to different social media choices, by creating a child theme page of the theme options.

In wordpress it’s still showing the original social media options(i.e- google+ and flickr) but I need it to have pinterest and instagram instead. Does something else need to change in the actual wordpress settings, besides making a child theme of the theme options? Or did I not create the child theme page correctly? Not sure why it’s not working.

In addition, I would like these to open in a new page, which I didn’t have much luck with, when I entered the target="blank" any suggestions on this as well?

    site is: abbypalanca.com

    Thanks!

  • I see Instagram and Pinterest icons in your sidebar currently – did you get those displaying how you’d like?

Getting the links to open in new window will be quite a bit easier if you opt to add your social links using a text widget instead of using the theme options. You could then add the HTML for your link and icon exactly how you’d like.

Let me know if you need further help.

    Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for your suggestion. Hadn’t thought about that and yes, that seems to be more helpful. I will give it a try and see if I still have further questions on this topic.

    Thanks!
