    Is there a way to change the “Vote up” and “Vote down” text? I need to change it to fit in with the website.

    If you want to use an icon instead, use CSS to achieve it.
    If you want to change the text, I’ll not update the plugin for this (not really necessary for a lot of people), but you could eventually do it by altering the strings used by the plugin.
    You can do this with a plugin like “Say what” (there is a free lite version) or by yourself for free, if you get your hands dirty (read about I18n for WordPress Developers in the codex)
