Changing the Size on thumbnails and Featured Image

i want to change the the thumbnails image size and the featured image cuz default is 1024×1024 i think its to big for my website and all my posts displayed on left or how can i change to display the posts on center and make the featured image or thumbnails on top? i mean before the post waiting for an answer thanks in advance!
