• 1. I copied the WP index.php into the root directory (example.com). 2. I renamed the index.html file that was in the root so as not to interfere with the .php presence. 3. I redefined my SITE URL from https://example.com/wordpress to https://example.com. 4. I tested the site and it did not work. I got a “Site not found” error when I tried to access it. 5. Then I renamed the .htaccess file in the root and moved the one from the WP site directory. 6. This also did not work.
I have put everything back like it was and everything works fine now but I’d still like to publish my wordpress site on to https://example.com and not the current site path of https://example.com/wordpress. How do I accomplish this?
I have Permalinks in the Settings menu of WP but I don’t know what to change in it (if anything).
