changing the sidebar color, image addressing

    Ok, so I found that I can change the sidebar color just by changing the color of the images in the hueman/img/sidebar folder. The question is this, I am using a child theme and have created the same directory structure and put the new images in there. But of course it still uses the images from the parent theme. I see that the images are called from the style.css file. I have one in the child theme with only my custom code in. Would I need to copy across all the code that refers to the sidebars into my child style.css file?

  • I’m not an expert, but there are two fast, easy workarounds:
    (1) preserve the parent files under a folder with a different name (for reference) and put your new image files in the parent theme image folder
    (2) if you just want to disable the use of all parent images, modify the name of folder in the parent theme.
