That has nothing to do with wordpress. Ask your hosting provider.

If I want to make changes in WordPress I have to connect up to my Server..but I get a failed message that looks like this…

Error: There was an error connecting to the server, Please verify the settings are correct…..but all my info for connecting up to the server is correct and I can login in fine to my FTP…having it communicate to my server is the issue…the port is 22 on my https://FTP..but wordpress has given me messages with 21.

Ah, gotcha. It might help you to be a little more descriptive next time :P.

As far as I know – I haven’t checked the latest changelogs, you could look into them – wordpress does not natively support this. I found this plugin you may find useful: https://phpseclib.sourceforge.net/wordpress.htm?

The plugins may work great but I can’t connect to the plugins because wordPress isn’t able to communicate with my server. I tried what you suggested but still get the error message. I placed the plugin into my file plugins in my FTP and went to word press to install but same message…

Failed to connect to FTP Server dev.reliableprotection.net/:21..I really believe it has to do with the port…if I try port 21 on my ftp it won’t connect up but if I do port 22 it works…but wordpress is defaulted at port 21..how can I change it to port 22??
