Changing the length of RSS Excerpt

Don’t tell anyone, but the old style options are still available at wp-admin/options.php?option_group_id=X
try numbers from 1 through 8 for X, to get the pre 1.2 options pages.

Can anyone explain RSS to me? I have an idea of what it does, but not sure how to use it (set it up, etc.). Thanks so much!

Given that the options are still there, it would be nice to be able to access them in the new menus.
