Changing the error message

    Hello,

    I’ve inherited a site that uses the Members plugin. The page that’s shown to non-logged in users is full of spelling mistakes, but I can’t edit it. The message shown in the settings>content-permissions>error message is not what is shown on the front end page, nor does it change when I edit it. Can you point me to the right spot, please?

    Hi @cjbrigden

    Please open the page that has a different error message in WordPress Dashboard, scroll down to the Content Permissions section, and check the “Error Message” tab. It allows you to override global error settings, so your error could come up from page content permission settings.

    Hopefully, that helps.

    Hi @caseproof Thanks for the reply. Apologies for being so laggy in response, I’ve been traveling.

    I don’t see any tabs that exactly relate to your answer.

    I want the text shown in the admin panel (You must be a member to visit the Resident’s Portal. Please log-in or click the link below to Register.) to display on the front end. What adjustments do I make?

    @cjbrigden Can you open the page where you want this error in the WordPress dashboard, scroll down to the bottom, and see if you have the Content Permissions section. Here is the screenshot for reference: https://share.cspf.co/P8uGmoy5

    You need to add your error to the content editor in Error Message tab.

    Ah yes, thanks, that makes sense now ?? I appreciate your help.

    Is there any way to style the forms? I’m using a large default body font because the site has many visually impaired users, but it makes the form quite messy.

    I’d like the Username or Email label not to break into 2 lines, if possible, and also get the Remember Me checkbox closer to the label.

    The cause of this is some styling issues. Can you send me the link to the Login page, so I’ll send you some code to fix it?
