Changing the conversions settings does not update the image
-
I first want to start by appreciating all the effort that went into this excellent plugin, and your FAQ section is outstanding…so detailed and helpful.
I’m using Flywheel’s Local Lightning development software on Windows 10.
I am using the NGINX server in Local, so I used the Alternative rules (using “rewrite”) method that you share in the FAQ, this method worked for me (in case anyone else asks).
My images are showing up as webP in the Network tab in Chrome, but for some reason one particular important jpeg was being overly compressed, to the point that it was so blurry that it defeated the design purpose of having it. So I tried changing the settings under the Conversion section, but no matter what I tried the image never changed it’s quality. Eventually I went to the Uploads folder, found all the *.jpg.webp versions of it and deleted them. Then when I refreshed the page on the frontend the updated conversion quality settings worked.
Is there an easier way than manually deleting the original conversion files? It feels like there may be a better way that perhaps I’m missing?
I’m also using the WP Retina 2x plugin by Jordy Meow. Is your plugin compatible with this plugin, does it conflict with it’s processes in any way?
Thanks!
