go into the plugin folder in /wp-contents/plugins/frontpage-slideshow/

you have a template folder wher you can put your templates.

The best way is to copy the default template then change it to fit your needs

Hum are you sure you are taking about the same plugin ??

I believe so. It appears to be in most of the examples on the Internet and I really liked the way it looked.

Here’s an example for WordPress. I couldn’t figure out how to implement it. https://www.frontpageslideshow.net/demos/wordpress/

Hum… this is NOT the same thing at all. Not the same slider, not the same degree of integration on WordPress, not the same dev team, not the same license.

So there must be two FPSS out there. Does anyone else know how to implement this slider on wordpress?

The slider you are talking about is made of proprietary code… so, no one else than their dev team could help you… and you probably have to pay them to do so…

Yeah I just found the page on implementing it… must have overlooked it before. It seems a bit extensive for what I’m looking for. It’s a shame… hopefully something similar will come out for WordPress.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the great plugin.

    I’m using v 0.9.9.3.8 on WP 3.2.1.
I’m trying to use a custom template and have the following problem:
    1. I followed your instructions in the default template and created a directory in \plugins\frontpage-slideshow\templates\ with a different name.
    2. Then copied your template to the new directory – without any changes – and selected the new template in the About templates section in options.
    3. Saved the changes.
    4. Reloaded my page.
    5. The slider is not working – it just shows all the images one after the other.
    6. I tried renaming the template.php file in my directory but it made no difference.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a path I have to change somewhere?

    Any javascript errors ?

Hi Jeff, yes I am getting an error – I’ve saved a screenshot to https://www.eisa.org.za/test/wp/fsjserror.png since the pastebin is down.

Clueless about js so any assistance appreciated.

That’s a strange thing… did you modified the file ? I see your are running wordpress locally, wich platform ? Linux ? Mac ? Windows ?

Indeed it is weird. No I didn’t modify anything – just created a new folder in templates and copied your file. I was going to change that but first tested. And it just lists all the pics one below the other with the link.

    Windows 7, WAMP.

It works perfectly with your version! If I revert back to your template it’s fine.

    I understand it not ??
