Hello, I used a web page cloner to build my site, and it has the old page name, instead of the new one.

I have input the new page name under General settings and Customize, however it wont change.

The web page cloner app developer couldnt offer advice.

Is there a way I can override the page name in the code of my site instead or with css?

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When you say “page name,” do you mean the Site Title? Or do you mean the URL/domain name of the site?

If it’s the Site Title, there may be an additional setting in the Simple Mag theme where you need to change the title of the site. You may want to check with the developers.

Yes I meant Site Title, thank you.

This issue has happened with me before with a different template using the web page cloner app, however the developer fixed it for me last time, and wont advise on how to again.

Is there any way to override it using code?

Okay, I see now. It’s actually the Yoast plugin that’s setting the title in the browser tab:

In your WP Admin, go to Yoast→Settings→Site Representation. Look under Organization Name and see if it’s different. If so, you can just change it there.

Hello, thanks for the response – I see it in the code you shared, however its strange, on the Yoast plugin it has my new website name and not the old one.

Do you know if there is another place to change this?

Did you also look under Yoast→Settings→Site Basics for Website Name?

Also, it would be helpful to know if your correct site title should be EARTH MAMA like it says in the browser tab, or Earth Arts like in the header.

Hello, yes, thank you. I did update the Yoast Site Basics Settings. The proper site name is supposed to be Earth Arts Journal, however it still displays Earth Mamma.

I see. It looks like the rest of your site titles are fine, it’s just that one page, which looks like your blog page. You can change the title of that specifically on the page itself.

You need to find the page that’s designated as your “Posts Page.”

Select Edit for that page, and scroll to the bottom until you see the Yoast section. In that section, you’ll see the SEO Title field.

Delete the tags in that field and enter the title you want manually. Select the blue Update button at the top and that should do the trick. If you view the page, the browser tab should display Earth Arts, or whatever you put in there.
