Changing single event layout

Hi,

I am working on a theme for a client and want to change the way single events are displayed. I found the file event-single.php but this file only contains a couple of lines of code, and not the layout of the event data as I expected.

How do I edit event-single.php so that I can wrap parts of the event information in markup/classes?
