Changing share plugin – Does it ruin my shares?

  • If I change my share plugin, from Simple Share Buttons to Mashshare, does that put my shares count at 0?
    If it does, would reinstalling Simple Share Buttons bring the share count back up?

    Typically, the number of shares is based on the page URL, so switching the plugin won’t mess with that – but it depends on how the plugin is implemented.

    You could try it on a test site to see if this switch works or not.

    Ok, thanks for the input.
    Anyone know if a switch works with the two plugins I mentioned above?
