Changing server accounts

  • Hi,

    I just moved my wordpress install from one server to another (the URLs remain the same) and the account name I have hosted under has changed. For example:

    Before moving:
    /home/abc/public_html/example.com

    After moving:
    /home/xyz/public_html/example.com

    I have been able to get everything else to work but I don’t know how to change the abc to xyz in all places in wordpress.

    I need help!

  • Does wordpress use urls THAT deep?

    If it does then you should be able to run a SQL query to replace it.

    BACKUP your database BEFORE you do that!

    hmmm … even I didn’t think wordwpress would … but I searched for “public_html” in my databases and came up with a few instances where it was being used …

    I manually fixed the problem (I like to take control myself)…

    I’ll update if anymore issues come up …
