• I am using ‘WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce’ to change existing products FROM digital downloads TO bundles (of separate digital products).

Problem I’m having is that when changing a product from a collection of digital downloads to bundle of digital downloads, any orders made before the change do not see ANY of the downloads on their account, either from the original downloads or those included in the new bundle setup?

Any suggestions for how to resolve this?

    Hi @alfandango ,

When you create the bundles, you have changed the product type from the Product Data section of the existing products or you created a new product and add items from the Bundled products tab?

Are you using any external plugin for managing digital downloads on your site?

Ideally, when creating bundles from digital existing products, the access given to users won’t be affected. However, chances are when they are added as subproducts of the smart bundles, the access has been removed since they are now binded to the main bundle. This might be triggered when you use an external plugin for digital products as well.

Unfortunately, we do not have any developers available on this forum to help you further with this. So I can only suggest two workarounds for your case:

    • You can try duplicating the digital products, keep the normal original products sold before in the store as separate items to be purchased individually. Add the duplicated versions to smart bundles to be subproducts and adjust their Catalog visibility in Shop and search results to Hidden to not confuse customers.
    • Reopen the sold items and offer access to users based on their purchases again.

    Best regards.

Thank-you for taking the time to reply.

    Here’s some follow-up information…

The existing product – Was ‘simple product type with ‘Virtual’ + ‘Downloadable’ ticked. It included several ‘Downloadable files” in the ‘general description.

The edited product – was changed to ‘smart bundle’ type with ‘Virtual’ + ‘Downloadable’ still ticked. the bundled products include heir own ‘downloadable files’

External plugins for downloads – I am using ‘WooComemrce S3 Amazon S3 Storage for WooCommerce‘ to link to the off-site digital downloads (used as short-codes in the downloadable files section of general tab of product)

    Hi @alfandango,

Regarding the provided information, I think that the products have been modified and considered as a new type, so that is the reason why the access of previous users/customers was removed.

You can kindly consider my instructions above to make sure they work properly as individual products.

    Best regards.
