    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the correct way to import a file to change the prices of all my products.

I played around with the import/export features on wordpress before, but I noticed it seems to overwrite/wipe everything.

I understand you can “tick” a large number of items in the backend of wordpress, then click edit via bulk actions but I would need this to work on mass for individual products.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • You can use the importer to do this – if you only use the fields you want to update then everything else is ignored and left as it is:

Export your products to a CSV – select the columns you need in the first box – you only really need the ID (or SKU) and Regular Price fields – but I always use the Name field too (makes it easier to see what product you’re changing!). Leave everything else as it is and click ‘Generate CSV’

Edit the CSV to change the prices that you want and save it.

Import this new CSV – make sure the ‘Update existing products’ is ticked and click ‘Continue’. The fields should already be mapped properly so click ‘Run the importer’. This should update all the products with the data in the CSV!

100% – Did try this before and it duplicated a lot of products so I will test one or two lines first when I need to.

    Thanks.

    This worked perfectly.
