Changing posts to preview mode on homepage

  • This is probably a super ignorant question, but I’m struggling to find any information on it. I’m using wordpress via the website and I blog with the basic ‘Penscratch’ theme. My posts are displaying in full on the main page as opposed to a mini-preview, which is stupid and makes their standalone pages redundant. I can’t find a way to change it (complete noob here).

    How do I set my blog posts to preview on my home page?
