Changing post titles after post is published

  • Is it possible to change the title of a post after the post is published? I know I can easily edit a post, but I was told that changing the post title is a no-no. Is this correct, or can I correct, edit, and update to my heart’s content?

  • you can change it, yes.

    It could be a “no-no” IF you change the post slug, which effectively, changes the pretty permalink under some circumstances (dependent on your permalink structure). That said, you can do that too.

    Whoops, maybe. I took the chance and changed the titles. Then I saw that I had the opportunity to edit the permalink – hey, I figured WP allows that option, why not take advantage of it. So I went ahead and changed the titles and then edited the permalink. For the posts which didn’t yet have any comments, that’s not a problem, I should think. I guess I’ll find out later if it’s a problem with the posts that did have comments. I’m just getting started, so even if things are screwed up a bit, at least it’s not secrewed up for the long term. Maybe
