Changing post title without it updating the permalink

    I want to change some already published post titles, but I don’t want the permalink to change since the posts have already been shared on social media. I don’t want to break any links. Would the following work or is there a better way? Or is it too risky and I should just leave the old titles as is?

    1. Change the post title
    2. Update the post
    3. Go back and change the new permalink to the old permalink
    4. Update the post again

    The link won’t change unless you specifically change it. The only time the link is essentially “connected” to the post’s title automatically is when you first write the post.

    You’ll have no trouble changing the title on existing posts, the links will remain unchanged.

    Hello @libra20,
    You can change the “Post Titles” without the fear of losing the permalinks. The permalinks won’t change on updating any post title.
