Changing PHP settings to get the import to not timeout
-
Hi,
Our website/server keeps timing out whenever we try to import anything. I’ve been in touch with our server support guys and they’ve asked for the ideal PHP settings that they need to have in order to prevent the server from timing out. He has said:
The issue here isn’t where the problem lies ie. Server or application, what I’m trying to ascertain is what the exact PHP variable/PHP.ini variable name is called, down to the letter. For example if I wanted to change the post max size value I wouldn’t write “post max size” into the php.ini file I would write post_max_size. So for the connection timeout value I need to know down to the letter the exact name of the variable. My searches have not found what I’m seeking.
This is the reason why I advised you to ask the plugin developer for the exact settings they require under PHP as that will not only have the correct values but the variable names too. This leads me to my second reason for this, and it is simply this. We can’t just temporarily make an increase like this as it simply will not work. On a standard cli server (no cPanel) we could do this very quickly, however the server in question is a cPanel + Cloud Linux + Litespeed server.
As you can imagine there are a number of moving parts, and since you are using Cloud Linux PHP selector to parse PHP (rather than native PHP) we need to physically add this as a configurable option to the GUI in PHP Selector. To do this I would need the exact variable name and to make sure it is compatible with Cloud Linux. Once done this change will then be editable for all accounts on the server making things easier in future.
If you could let us know what these settings would be that would be a big help. Thanks
