Changing permanlink

    It looks like you are running version 3.5.2 so unless you are doing something extra then you should not need a plugin. Just change the permalinks and the built in canonical redirection feature should redirect the old URLs to the new.

    If that does not happen then change it back and then there may be other things that you can try such as that plugin.

    And, if for any reason I need to change it back, all the old numberical URLs will still be there?

    It should be fine but can you share your current permalink settings just in case?

    I think it will say /archives/%post_id% but I just want to be sure. ??

    archives/1234
