changing permalink structure

My blog address is https://www.mypantsare2tight.com
When I go to a specific post on my blog the url is
https://gator1617.hostgator.com/~username/sample-post/I want to change it to say
https://www.mypantsare2tight.com/~category/sample-post/How do I change it? Everywhere I read talks about changing the part AFTER the address, not changing the address itself. Thanks for any help.
