Changing payment to refunded doesn’t adjust ticket count

When we edit a payment and change the status to “Refunded”, then number of tickets for sale on an event doesn’t change.
For example, event with 100 tickets for sale. I bought 10 and then refunded them. It still says 10 tickets sold.
Is this by design? We kind of expected refunded tickets to adjust the number sold.
