Changing number of H1 per page for SEO Customizer

I’m using the Customizer theme and it’s awesome.

Only one issue: when running a SEO check it states that every page has more than 1 h1 which is a critical error. Each slider image has a title which is h1 and the logo area is an h1. Then on supplemental pages the title of the page is an h1. When I go into edit and find the code for example the logo and change the h1 to h2 and save the site itself doesn’t get updated. Any ideas on what I may be missing?

And,can this be changed for future versions?
