Changing my Blog Header

  • Hi,

    I am using the ‘beach-house’ theme for my travel related blog but I would like to change the header using either a personal photograph or more likely a photograph from MyStockPhoto.com.

    The problem is I really have no idea how to do this dispite having read a few ‘support’ posts and some WP documentation.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • The image is header.jpg. You could try downloading it (make a local ‘working’ copy, you can see it here: https://themes.wordpress.net/testrun/wp-content/themes/563/images/header.jpg) and load it into a graphics editor, make the changes you would like and then copy it back over the file on the server. Note that to work you will need to maintain the borders, shadows and background of the original image (one way is to make a ‘selection’ box where you want to change the beach image, and insert/paste into that selection).

    I checked the author’s site and he ‘lost’ the original .psd file of the header image, but without PhotoShop that might not be much help anyway ;’)
