    Hi all,

I have tried to change the serving of my static content from a subdomain but this does not seem to work. (I am trying to do this for optimisation)

I have tried a couple of plugins that say they give me the ability to change the media directory.

I tried one and it showed them from the subdomain (once copied) but it would not allow me to add new images to this folder.

I have tried to define the uploads and content locations but to no avail.

Say I have it on media.mydomain.com – I set the upload to the media folder and the full URL as the folder.

When I do this, it is creating a media folder in the wp-content folder but will not show images from here.

The media library shows the image as media.mydomain.com but throws a 404 error when I try to view it.

Having inspected the wp-content folder, the image is showing in the media folder there.

I have also tried changing this in the wp-config.php file with no luck.

Is there something simple I am missing?

I have checked several forums who suggest to change the wp-config.php file to define the uploads. They also suggest to change the database but I am loathe to do that if I cannot get the images to show from the subdomain.

I just don’t know what I am missing.

    I would appreciate some pointers

    I sorted it.

It would appear that my subdomain redirection wasn’t working as it should have been.
