Changing Login

  • How do I change my login? I have my nick changed. Do I need to re-register and give my new account permissions? Right now its named ‘admin’ and I want to switch that to my username.

  • You should be able to click on ‘my profile’ in the admin screen and make appropriate changes.

    Hmm…I see what you mean. I’m using 1.0.1 CVS and I remember when you could change your login from admin to ‘nickname’. Doesn’t appear to be that way anymore.
    If that’s the case (don’t know if that’s a bug or oversight or what), you have a couple of options.
    1) login as admin, but have your nickname displayed on your blog as an author (by selecting your choice on the ‘identity on blog’ dropdown in ‘my profile’;
    2) Go through phpmyadmin and manually change the admin login. (Edit table ‘wp_users’, then row ‘user_login’ for the appropriate user (admin, in this case.) Just change admin to whatever you want, and you should be good to go.
