    Hello,

I have followed these documents on how to change change a translation from current to something I want.

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1449-how-to-translate-plugin
    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/217-change-default-tab-title

For example, I want to change the “Your account” to “Edit account”.

    So…

    1. I downloaded Poedit as well as /wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/languages/ultimate-member-en_US.po
    2. I edited the file by changing the Your account field to Edit account and saved the file.
    3. I then created a folder /wp-content/themes/Divi-child/ultimate-member/languages
    4. I then uploaded the compiled .mo file to this folder as well as the edited .po file and refreshed my site.
    5. No change.

So I figured, maybe my site is not configured to en_US.

      So…

    1. I checked my language selected in General -> Site Language and found it was set to English (South Africa) which is en_ZA.
    2. So I edited the .po file again and went to Catalog -> Properties and changed the language to English (South Africa)
    3. I saved the file this time with the tag ultimate-member-en_ZA.po and compiled it and uploaded the new files to the /wp-content/themes/Divi-child/ultimate-member/languages directories.

    No change!

Please can someone assist me with this seemingly simple problem and yet it completely eludes me!

    Thanks

I found the issue. Seems the plugin doesn’t respect the child theme! I had to upload the files to the /wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/languages directory instead of the /wp-content/themes/theme-child/ultimate-member/languages directory.

This isn’t very efficient in the event we ever completely reinstall the plugin. We will lose our translation files…

Anyways…I found the solution…not a good solution though!
